About me
My name is Keely Holland and I have created this blog to explain, in my own words, what it’s like living with autism. Living with autism affects my everyday life, though most of my struggles go unnoticed. So, I plan to raise awareness on these issues, particularly for people with high functioning autism. I am not the autistic stereotype (a geeky, socially awkward, science boy) so i often hear the statement “but you don’t look autistic”. I’m here to prove you don’t have to look autistic to be autistic. Being a female with autism brings its own set of issues such as late diagnoses and the struggle of masking. Masking means we constantly hide our autistic traits, in the hope of appearing “normal”. I hope to explore these issues in my blog and reach out to those who deal with the same issues. I want to re-define autism and hopefully bring to light issues that aren’t talked about.

Very proud of you. X
Spread the word, talking is the way forward, well done
Well you are amazing and your Mum and Dad are so proud of you and Nan Grandad Just be your self and good on you for spreading the word I know some lovely people that have Autism and yes it is very hard for people to understand the illness so good luck xxxxx
Thank you. I do prefer not to call it an illness because it isn’t actually an illness. Autistic brains are just brains that work differently to the neurptypical brain that’s all :). Thank you for your support xx
Amazing you are doing this Keely. I will be following along. My 10 year old daughter has Aspergers & is high functioning.
